The minister was briefed about the functions, achievements and issues. The minister said that the common man could be empowered by sharing the government through local bodies' representation. He said, "To empower the local government representatives is crucial part of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's policies".
The minister stressed that the role of LG&CD Department was vital to make Prime Minister's Programme "Clean and Green Pakistan" a success. He directed the local government bodies to ensure waste management at the union council level as he would conduct surprise visits to check the cleanliness in the urban and rural areas.
